On the morning of May 31st, China's self-developed large amphibious aircraft for fire fighting/water rescue, the "Kunlong" AG600, successfully completed its maiden flight in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province. The aircraft was in good condition, the control system functioned normally, and all systems operated stably. The third AG600 aircraft was equipped with a Beidou-3 airborne terminal, where the navigation processor served as the main navigation system of the AG600, responsible for providing the aircraft's position information; the short message processor was responsible for short message communication with ground command aircraft.
According to reports, the AG600 full-state new configuration fire extinguisher is a major aviation equipment developed to meet the urgent needs of China's emergency rescue system and national natural disaster prevention and control system. It is the first large-scale special aircraft developed in China in accordance with civil airworthiness standards, and is one of the three domestically produced large aircraft, alongside the Y-20 large transport aircraft and the C919 large passenger aircraft. The AG600 full-state new configuration fire extinguisher has a maximum takeoff weight of 60 tons and a maximum water capacity of 12 tons, filling the gap in domestically produced large aviation fire extinguishing aircraft. The successful maiden flight of the AG600 full-state new configuration fire extinguisher marks a new stage of accelerated development for the project, and also signifies a significant breakthrough in the development of fire extinguishing functional models, crossing another major project milestone. It is a major phased achievement in the construction of China's independent aviation emergency rescue equipment system.
